How to start the New Year with a BANG, goal setting and sustaining motivation!

  • Take a selfie! It might be tough going, especially post Christmas. We can be our own worst critics but try and focus on things you love about yourself. Try starting we three positives for one negative. We ALL have body hang ups. By documenting our starting point you will have evidence of your amazing progress and this will help to keep you motivated.
  • Now visualise… Be optimistic about what you want, not what you want to get rid of! Change your thoughts to feeling positive about the improvements you are going to make by committing to change.
  • Set goals. Whilst its wonderful setting long term goals, setting short, challenging but achievable goals will keep you motivated and on track to hit your target.
  • Keep a diary. It’s essential you are logging your training and diet. Making progress is not just about losing weight, it’s about getting stronger too! That means, tracking your weights in each training session. Often we can over or under eat in the day; our bodies need proper nutrition to function. My advice? Log what you’re eating and if you’re feeling tired/lethargic at a particular point in the day it might be a sign you need to change your food choices up a little.
  • Connect with the community! We’re here for you. Whilst I’m hoping most days you will feel amazing and like you can accomplish anything. Occasionally though, we all have those days. If you do have that moment where want to throw in the towel or are just in need of some motivation. We are here for you for support at any time.
